I wanted the Eagles to win their game last week against the Cowboys for several reasons. First, I thought the Cowboys were the better, more dangerous team. Second, I thought the Eagles were a flawed team and would not have as good a record in the rest of their schedule. Finally, while the Giants have the toughest schedule, the Eagles have a fairly easy schedule but the Cowboys have a ridiculously easy schedule and are likely to clean up, if not run the table.
After watching the game, it sure appears that the Eagles may have cleaned up, or at least addressed their achilles heels. Their OL looked better and the defense with the LBs and S's improving are playing much better. Further on defense, Eagles are playing less zone ans more man-coverage, which suits their personnel better.
Eagles may be on the way to fixing, or at least mending their flas and could be a dangerous team down the stretch.
Some worrying information on the injury front, though it clearly could be worse than it actually is. Nicks is out and Tryon represents yet another CB that is out for the season. Amukamara might play this Sunday and that is really timely. Barden may be activated also, since Nicks is out.
Giants are 8 1/2 point underdogs and will have to play really well to win. There will be a more detailed look at the game later in the week, but for now, I can say that I think the Giants at least have a chance and am hoping that they will be competitive.
